The Vowels is a generative vocal composition. It is a set of instructions that, when followed, produce a constantly-evolving piece of music.

This piece can be performed by five or six vocalists or instrumentalists or recorded by as few as one person, using looping.  The gist of the piece is a Major 7 9 chord. The main feature of the song is that the notes repeat asynchronously, causing them to recombine in new ways over time.
